#1 Torrey Pines was trailing #5 San Marcos 10-7 at halftime, when the game was postponed due to lightning strikes in the area. The Avocado league decided to rule a “no contest”, and all their teams will play a nine game schedule.
#2 Cathedral Catholic was leading Christian 21-0 when the lightning postponed the game, and both teams agreed to call the game at that point and make it a final.
#3 Helix was leading Grossmont 27-0 at the half when the game was postponed. Both teams agreed to call the game and make it official with that score.
#4 La Costa Canyon was leading Mission Hills 7-0 at the end of the first quarter when officials stopped the game for lightning. The game was not resumed and will be a “no contest”.
#6 Eastlake jumped out quick on Bonita Vista and they were able to finish their game with the Titans winning big, 49-7.
#7 Madison was trailing #10 St. Augustine, 24-7 with under a minute to play in the 3rd quarter when lightning forced the game to be postponed. They came back on Monday to resume it, and the Warhawks came to play. Madison responded with 20 unanswered points capped off by an incredible catch by Daniel Stokes in the corner of the end zone to provide the most dramatic win of the season.
#8 Carlsbad was trailing El Camino on the road when lightning stopped the action in the 2nd quarter with the Lancers winning 13-7. A “no contest” is the official ruling.
#9 Granite Hills went into halftime with a 28-14 lead over El Capitan when weather decided to stop the game. The teams agreed to call the score official at that point and keep the Eagles undefeated on the campaign.
