  • 2019 Lincoln DB Don Chapman committed to Washington State.
  • 2020 La Costa Canyon LB Ozzie Nicholas picked up an offer from Arizona.
  • 2021 Bishop’s ATH Champion Johnson picked up an offer from Oregon.

Football:

  • The teams from San Diego that all won CIF Titles this season (Cathedral CatholicSt. AugustineLincolnMorseSan Diego, and Orange Glen) all advanced to State Playoff games.

Alumni:

  • Chris Olave, a 2018 Mission Hills grad, became a national name on Saturday with his performance against Michigan, in The Game.

  • 2020 San Marcos INF Billy Wurch committed to Butler University.
  • 2019 San Diego RB Raiden Hunter picked up an offer from Navy.
  • 2019 St. Augustine ATH JT Penick picked up an offer from USD.
  • 2020 La Costa Canyon LB Ozzie Nicholas picked up an offer from Oregon State.
  • 2021 Bishop’s QB Tyler Buchner picked up an offer from TCU.

Alumni:

  • 2016 Mission Bay grad Justin Moore, who played two seasons at Georgia Tech, has transferred to University of Pacific, and will have two years left to play beginning next season.
  • 2015 Poway grad Tyler Nevin, a 1st round pick of the Colorado Rockies, won the Batting Title at the MLB’s Arizona Fall League.

Football:

  • The Open Division Finals are set–
    • Torrey Pines defeated San Marcos, while Cathedral Catholic defeated Carlsbad on Friday. The Del Mar Heights Road Rivals will head to Southwestern College on Saturday, the 17th, to battle for the San Diego Section Title.

Basketball:

  • The 2018-19 Basketball Season tips off this Tuesday.
    • Opening season events include The San Diego Tip-Off Challenge @ Montgomery HS, the Regional Rumble @ Madison HS, The Gameon Challenge, and the Grossmont Thanksgiving Tournament.

Recruiting:

  • 2019 Mission Bay G Boogie Ellis is expected to announce his college decision on Friday. His finalists include Duke, North Carolina, San Diego State, USC, and Memphis.
  • 2019 Parker Punter Ryan Sanborn, a Stanford commit, was named to the All-American Bowl.
  • 2019 Carlsbad LB/DB Asa Turner, a Washington commit, was named to the All-American Bowl.
  • 2019 Madison WR Daniel Stokes picked up an offer from Air Force.
  • 2020 La Costa Canyon LB Ozzie Nicholas picked up an offer from Dartmouth, and took an unofficial visit to Stanford.

Basketball:

  • 2020 Torrey Pines G Nick Herrmann is currently battling cancer in his left leg. You can help his family with medical costs here!
  • Basketball practice officially began in San Diego on Saturday. Teams can begin playing official games on Tuesday, November 13th.

Alumni:

  • 2007 El Capitan grad Ryan Lindley, who was a quarterback at San Diego State and played three seasons in the NFL, was named the running backs coach with the Cleveland Browns.
  • 2007 Valhalla grad Greg Garcia, who has played five seasons as an infielder with the St. Louis Cardinals, was claimed by the Padres.
