San Diego Section Player of the Year rankings through 2 weeks:

  1. Kyle Sachrison– La Costa Canyon. The future pitcher at New Mexico State has been a force for the 4-3 Mavericks averaging 14 points and 13 rebounds a game.
  2. Devin Watson– Army-Navy Academy. The junior point guard is averaging 25 points and 5 assists per game for the 3-0 Warriors.
  3. Izzy Wagner– Mount Miguel. The senior has started the season with games of 43 and 41 points. He outscored the opposing team by himself in both games.
  4. Brynton Lemar– St. Augustine. The future UC-Davis point guard has led the #3 Saints to a 4-1 record and a 2nd place finish in the West Hills tournament.
  5. Andrere Nikkita– El Cajon Valley. The senior is averaging 27.7 ppg for the 5-2 Braves including starting the season with games of 50 and 40 points.

Division 2:

Oceanside defeated Poway 32-10 on Saturday night at Escondido HS to win the D2 championship in San Diego. Unfortunately the Pirates were not selected to a So Cal regional bowl game.

Division 4:

The Madison Warhawks defeated the St. Augustine Saints 35-21 on Saturday morning at Escondido HS to capture their 2nd ever D4 CIF title. On Sunday morning the Warhawks were awarded a berth in a Division 3 So Cal regional bowl game against Monrovia HS.
